Map of Hard Rock Casino Tampa

Tampa has one casino, but it is a big one. This map of the Hard Rock casino in Tampa centers on the Seminole Hard Rock, a resort on the tribe’s reservation east of downtown that ranks among the largest casinos in the country and is the biggest in Florida by gaming floor. It is the only casino in the Tampa Bay area, sitting just off Interstate 4 near the state fairgrounds. The minimum age on the casino floor is 21.

Where the Hard Rock sits in Tampa

The resort stands on the Seminole Tribe’s Tampa Reservation at 5223 Orient Road, east of downtown Tampa and just off Interstate 4 near the Florida State Fairgrounds. That puts it minutes from the junction of Interstate 4 and Interstate 75, easy to reach from downtown, from the eastern suburbs, and from Tampa International Airport about 15 to 20 minutes west. It is not on the water or near the Gulf beaches, but inland on the city’s east side.

It is the only casino in Tampa and the whole Tampa Bay area. There is no second property to compare it against and no casino district, so a casino trip here means the Seminole Hard Rock. The next nearest casinos are a long way off, which is part of why this one resort draws from across the Gulf coast and central Florida.

To the east, Orlando has no casino at all, so the Hard Rock Tampa is also the closest full casino to that city, about 90 minutes away. The rest of Florida’s casinos sit far to the south, and all of them appear together on the wider Florida state map.

Inside the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa

The casino floor runs about 245,000 square feet, the largest in Florida and one of the largest in the United States. It holds roughly 5,230 slot machines and around 49 live table games, with premium and high limit slots and tables in a separate area reached from the Orient Road garage. The poker room is one of the biggest in the state, with 46 tables, and like the other Seminole rooms it takes players at 18 while the main floor stays 21 and over. The resort runs a retail sportsbook with dozens of self service kiosks and staffed windows, and Hard Rock Bet, the tribe’s statewide app, takes bets across Florida from here.

The hotel is a AAA Four Diamond property with 802 rooms, expanded with a 14-story tower in 2019, and the casino itself grew through expansions in 2007 and 2012 to reach its current size. The property has announced further expansion, so the figures here are a snapshot. For a visitor the scale is the point: this is a destination resort built to keep people on site, not a local floor.

Casinos near Tampa

There is no second casino near Tampa to pair with the Hard Rock. The Gulf coast around St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Sarasota has none, and neither does Orlando to the east. The closest other casino is the Seminole floor at Immokalee, a couple of hours south toward Naples, and the dense run of South Florida casinos is a long drive across the state. For something on the water, gambling cruise ships sail from the Gulf beaches near Clearwater into international waters, where they open slots and tables once far enough offshore. Otherwise the Hard Rock stands alone for the whole region.

Hard Rock Live, dining, and the resort

Like its sister property in Hollywood, the Tampa resort works as a destination beyond the floor. The Hard Rock Event Center hosts touring concerts and shows, and the property runs a long list of restaurants, from the Council Oak steakhouse to a Hard Rock Cafe, alongside a resort pool, a spa, and a stack of bars and lounges. The scale of the place, with its hotel, dining, and entertainment under one roof, is what lets a casino trip to Tampa fill a weekend without leaving the campus.
